Flothemes Requirements
To create a WordPress website, there are 3 components required:
1. Domain Name – YourWebsiteName.com
2. Hosting – this is where all your content is located
3. A Flotheme 🙂
If you already are a WordPress user, skip directly to the Technical Requirements Part.
1. Domain Name
The domain is your website's URL.
If you don't have one, all you have to do is Google “buy a domain name” and go from there.
Can I transfer my existing domain name?
For domains that were purchased individually (not as part of your hosting plan), it requires manual configuration for it to be connected to your hosting. Here you can find more details on how to do that.
2. Web hosting/ server
Web hosting is a service that allows you to post a website or web page onto the Internet. Websites are hosted or stored, on special computers called servers.

3. WordPress installation
You are maybe wondering what's the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
WordPress.org is a platform (Content Management System) you can use to create a website or a blog. Whereas WordPress.com is a hosting provider and it's not connected with WordPress.org
New to Wordpress?
If you're switching over from Squarespace, Weebly, Wix, etc, you'll need to install WordPress first. If your host installed WordPress for you, please move to the next point.
Otherwise, you will need to install Wordpress yourself.
Technical Requirements
Once you installed WordPress, we recommend checking the requirements bellow for an improved experience with your theme.
Respecting these requirements will also protect you from some more serious issues like websites down, changes not being saved, blank screens, emails not being sent through, etc. I think you got the point, these will simply save you from headaches and wasted time.
1. Your WordPress version should be at least 5.0. The best is to always keep it updated to the most recent version that was confirmed by our team.
2. SSL certificate. This means your website is secure. This isn't important only for a good performance of your website, though it will also improve your user's experience and it gives you extra points in the face of search engines. If you want our team to install the certificate for you, check this.
3. PHP version should be 7.0 or above. The version based on which your theme was built is 7.2, though the themes are also compatible with more recent versions. Here's how to change the PHP version.
4. PHP Requirements. This is a bit more technical, so if you're not comfortable with it, we'd recommend to simply ask your hosting provider to adjust these.
